Research details

It has been widely studied for anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Research shows that KPV can enter cells and interact with inflammatory signaling pathways including NF-kB and MAP kinase, reducing production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1 and interleukin-6.

Scientific investigations have explored its role in gut health, wound-healing biology, and skin-integrity research, including effects on epithelial repair, collagen dynamics, and tissue regeneration.

Areas of Research Interest

  • Inflammatory signaling: modulation of NF-kB and MAP kinase pathways and cytokine production.
  • Gut health: epithelial repair and gastrointestinal inflammatory environments.
  • Antimicrobial activity: research against organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.
  • Tissue resilience: oxidative stress, cellular repair, and soft-tissue pathways.
